Central Accommodation Facility Schöppingen

The 7.5 ha large grounds was developed in the sixties and served as NATO barracks until 1986. Since 1990, it has been used for the accommodation of asylum seekers and foreign refugees. Mid 2001, we have taken over this facility on behalf of the district government.

The grounds also house the branch Schöppingen of the district government, with whose co-workers we closely coordinate all our working steps.

The 12 one and two storey buildings can accommodate up to 300, in emergency even up to 500 occupants. Some houses are reserved for families and women, who are travelling alone. Each floor has WCs and shower/wash rooms. Catering is provided by our canteen kitchen; there are also various shared kitchens, where the occupants can prepare their own meals. All washing can be handed in to the house internal laundry.

Besides the common social support, we have a kindergarten, which is open all days and an ambulance station with expert personnel. Various TV rooms, a billiard and table tennis room, and a large sports hall provide many possibilities for leisure activities. Apart from that, a football field and a children's’ playground can be found in the generous outside facilities.
