Hostel Werdau

Both houses, which were built around 1900, have a varied past: from grain silo via a production plant for the precision tool industry up to a hostel for apprentices, which was closed in 1990. In 1992, the State of Saxony has transformed the grounds for the accommodation of asylum seekers and foreign refugees, enabling us – after extensive modernisation works – to assume responsibility for the facility at the end of 1992.

The hostel Werdau has been planned to house up to 270 persons and has been fitted with a sufficient number of large WCs, wash and shower rooms. A large shared kitchen is on each floor. All washing can be handed to the house internal laundry. Food and every-day articles are available from our shop.

Children are looked after in a playroom, where they can also paint and do handicrafts. A room for smaller celebrations is available for adults. Apart from that, we provide regular German courses and the generous grounds invite to participate in many different sport activities.

Close to the hostel are some flats, which we have rented and renovated and which we are now administering. These flats have room for between 3 and 7 persons. The occupants – exclusively families – are also cared for by us.
