Accommodation
Since 1990 European Homecare has provided its services to refugees in accommodation centres and since 1995 we have rendered our services to refugees in initial reception centres.
Typically the buildings are owned by the departments or communities and have been designated to host refugees. The standards of buildings vary significantly and is in the sole responsibility of the communities as owners.
A typical accommodation centre for refugees consists of units for
- housing (separate for single women/mothers and minors)
- office space of social workers, officers of authorities, police officers
- kitchen and dining hall
- first aid station
- office for counselling services
- playgrounds
- TV rooms/library
- fitness and indoor activities
Accommodation related services are the provision of
- mattresses, linen, pillows, blankets etc.
- cleaning & cleaning materials
- laundry services
- articles of daily use (soap, shampoo, towels, pampers etc.)
- heating & warm water
- maintenance
