What is Voluntary Return?
- Assisted Voluntary Return is a service to help individuals to return voluntarily to their home country in a humane and dignified way.
- This programme is open to asylum seekers and vulnerable irregular migrants from non-EU countries.
- It is a door-to-door service which supports returnees every step of the way, assisting with travel documents, transport etc.
- EHC aim to promote this service and support IOM through our referral service.
Benefits
- All costs covered.
- Returnee travels in same way as any other passenger.
- Reasons for returnees stay in Ireland remains fully confidential.
- Returnees’ passport will not be stamped.
- Returnee may apply to re-enter Ireland legally for the purpose of work, study etc.
- Migrants take control of their own destiny and are no-longer waiting for decisions to be made on their behalf.
- Re-integration support available.

- EHC give easy and anonymous access to information on Voluntary Return.
- At all times information given during calls remains fully confidential.
- For more than 10 years EHC has been entrusted with Voluntary Return Services.
- The Irish Government contract EHC to provide this service on a non-profit basis.
